Oriental Beauty

Oriental Beauty is an exceptional Oolong tea from Taiwan and one of the more heavily oxidised expressions of its kind. Its distinctive character is the result of a remarkable natural process: small leafhoppers feed on the tea leaves, triggering a chemical reaction within the plant that gives the tea its characteristic honey-like sweetness and rich fruity aroma.

The dry leaves display a fascinating spectrum of colours, ranging from silvery white and green to yellow, red and brown. Once infused, they produce a luminous orange-red liquor.

On the palate, Oriental Beauty reveals layers of ripe fruit, delicate blossoms and sweet honey, carried by a soft, rounded body. Smooth, aromatic and deeply expressive, it is one of Taiwan’s most distinctive tea specialties.

This rare tea is produced primarily in northwestern Taiwan and is considered one of the island’s most characteristic and celebrated teas.
