Hatidubi Fu Soonga (smoked tea)

Our Assam Smoked Tea is produced exclusively for us at our own Hatidubi Tea Estate. The tea is carefully processed and then gently smoked over natural wood, giving it a distinctive yet harmonious smoky character.

Its refined smoky notes are reminiscent of whisky, making this tea a wonderful companion to rich cheese dishes such as Fondue and Raclette. The smokiness remains pleasantly restrained, complementing rather than overpowering the characteristic malty and aromatic notes of Assam.

According to tradition, this style of tea is said to resemble the flavour of some of the earliest teas from the Assam region. In those days, freshly pressed tea leaves were reportedly hung above village fires, where they gradually absorbed the smoke from the wood.

A distinctive and atmospheric expression of Assam, combining regional tradition with a wonderfully subtle smoky character.
