Yunnan is considered the birthplace of tea. Although Yunnan is geographically located in China, the majority of the tea produced there uses Camellia Sinensis Assamica.
Yunnan teas are visually and characteristically related to black teas from Assam. However, they are somewhat milder, sweeter, and contain less caffeine. Nevertheless, the malty note is still present. Therefore, they are ideally suited as morning teas for tea drinkers with sensitive stomachs.
